About the Artists:
Førtifem is a French illustration duo composed of Jesse Daubertes and Adrien Havet, whose work draws inspiration from Gustave Doré, H.P. Lovecraft, and Slipknot. United by years of professional experience and a shared passion for art, metal music, and fantastical imagery, Førtifem has left a strong mark on the French illustration scene.
Equally comfortable creating posters and screen prints for metal bands as they are illustrating for luxury brands, Førtifem works across a wide range of creative fields. Their most recent achievement: a complete tarot deck dedicated to Lovecraft, the Great Old Ones, and the Cthulhu mythos.
Both artists began their careers as graphic designers before combining their talents under one name in 2011. Since then, they have developed a distinctive four-handed style, merging tattoo-inspired line work with the precision of antique engravings, balancing between dark, occult atmospheres and vibrant pop culture references.
About the Artwork:
“The choice of film to honor was obvious—Coppola’s Dracula still fascinates us more than 30 years after its release. We can’t think of another film as major that blends romance, horror, history, adventure, and fantasy so seamlessly, without aging a bit.
We wanted to pay tribute to the film’s western-style scene, and to the incredible model of the Count’s patched-up, towering castle. Like something straight out of a steampunk Kupka painting set amidst deep ravines, it stands as a silent witness to the heroes’ desperate race against the sunset.”
