Guillaume Singelin, a leading artist of Franch Label 619, has always had the ability to connect deeply with his readers — whether through his sensitivity or his sharp understanding of pop culture. Even in his most “badass” works (The Grocery’s ultra-violent American gang world, the horror and fantasy of Doggy Bags or Midnight Tales, the science fiction of P.T.S.D.), Guillaume has consistently managed to infuse meaning and emotion into his storytelling.
A longtime admirer of his work, Geek-Art had the privilege of collaborating with this accomplished and generous artist. We are therefore delighted to present this exceptional fine art print for sale.
Peaceful Meka is the title of this piece, blending many of Guillaume’s favorite worlds — from raw science fiction to Studio Ghibli, from giant robot battles to kawaii characters. Rarely has one of the artist’s visuals expressed his inspirations and passions so completely.
« Peaceful Meka » comes from my love of Japanese “mecha” culture, especially works like Patlabor. With this illustration, I wanted to flip the usual warlike, often urban tone of the genre on its head and take it in the exact opposite direction. That’s why I created a bucolic, almost nostalgic scene — a quiet moment for this pilot in a small countryside town.
