As part of the 2023 Utopiales in Nantes, Geek-Art was entrusted with curating a mini-exhibition on the making of selected video games. Behind every title lies the talent of numerous artists, character designers, and concept artists. The aim of this exhibition was to give visitors a “behind-the-scenes” look at the creative process — exploring how a level, an environment, or a character is visually imagined and brought to life.
For this mini-exhibition dedicated to the highly anticipated game Goldorak: Le Festin des Loups, the Nantes-based studio Endroad collaborated with Geek-Art, sharing exclusive sketches and work-in-progress materials of in-game environments created for the title.
These were no ordinary environments: as Goldorak is the first officially licensed video game approved by the Japanese studios holding the rights, the challenge was significant — modernizing the world of France’s most famous mecha while staying true to the source material.
The result offered visitors an immersive look into the heart of the game, alongside insight from the artists behind the project — an experience that captivated Utopiales attendees, especially with the game being playable on-site.
